This last year (2009) had been a deep revelation kind of year for the worship team. We are beginning to learn to be still and know, to bask in His wonderful presence, to understand the importance of connecting to our God more deeply in worship. Not to rush a worship set, but to let God have His way. Stop and listen to that still small voice.

We have had a lot of spiritual growth this past year, beginning with our desire to get in the word together. Bible studies each week with practice. It has made us stronger! Brought us closer! We have learned the importance of connecting with one another and, more importantly, daily refreshing our connection with God. And have now let the Word become part of our worship ministry.

As a team we practice, pray, prepare, and hope after a worship set that there will be a strong sense of connection between the congregation and the Lord and a connection with one another in the room. And that, even after that, our hearts want more. If you could hear the prayers that come from the members on the worship team, you would know that their desire is for our church to have a great move of God. To have an impact on the next generation and beyond, an eternal impact through praise and worship.

God is not calling us to perform worship, but rather calling us to be more authentic and more transparent in our time of worship. To be more real. I'm looking forward to what God has for us this year. A fire has started in myhear to have a powerful experience of manifest presence of God through praise and worship in our church. A transformative encounter with the one true living God.

Wow! God is truly moving in this church. I feel a strong awakening in praise and worship here at Calvary Assembly. My prayer is that God awakens us all from our slumber and we get ourselves ready for an awesome ready for an awesome move of his glory! Get ready church!

As the worship leader, I've had a front seat to the spiritual and physical changes God has made in this place and in our hearts. We are learning to bring more than a song to Jesus. We are becoming true worshipers....extravagent worshipers.
