The Children’s Ministry had another wonderful year! As both the children and I venture into the new curriculum, Betty Lukens Bible Through Felt, we are growing. Every good gift (idea) is from above, and indeed the Lord has provided. Using my musical gifts and background, I’ve introduced songs as an effective tool in making scripture memorization easier, and F-U-N! Last year several verse memorization certificates were handed out to the children for their efforts in reciting scripture, and surely the children’s success in doing so will increase this year. Knowing God’s word is so important, and it’s also our greatest weapon in defeating the enemy. This is one of this ministries’ goals for 2010; to know the Bible more.
On the evening of October 31st, 2009 the Children’s Ministry hosted an event to honor the Holy Spirit. Parents and kids came together to spend the evening praying, fellow-shipping, playing games, and praising the Lord. As an alternative to what is commonly practiced secularly on this designated night, we had fun rejoicing in God. This year we hope to have even more people in attendance.
Also in 2009, The A.B.C. Praise Team had great musical success! We expanded our vocal ranges, learned a myriad of new techniques, sang new songs, and had members move and added to our group. We sang at an outreach hosted by CLC Church called “Rock da Block” in November at the O’Banion Center in Merced. The Children’s Ministry represented for Calvary Assembly of God, and passed out gospel tracks and goodie bags to the children. We also led four people to the Lord that day, and prayed with many others who visited our table. It was an honor, and very rewarding for us all to serve that day. We ended the year with a Christmas program, in which three beautiful songs were sung, and a praise dance was performed to honor our Lord Jesus’ birth.
As Children’s Ministry Leader, and the A.B.C. Praise Team director, my personal 2010 goal is to glorify God more, to serve Him more; to praise, pray, and fast more this year than I did last year. I vow to learn and teach more for His glory, and to equip the children with the word of God, and to give more of myself to these wonderful ministries which I have been called to serve.
*A special thanks to Sister Beverly Gomez and Sister Kizzy Stelly for their help, and participation in the “Rock da Block” outreach. We also want to extend a very special thanks the Magdaleno family, and Brother Oscar Perez for blessing the Kids’ Choir with printed t-shirts.

*We at Calvary Assembly of God want you to know that your child's safety is important. We ask that if you wish to volunteer in any area of the children and youth ministries, no matter how long you have been a member of the church, you fill out an Infolink information application. A background check will be performed. Once the check is complete, the Board will review your application and you will be notified of the decision by letter or with a verbal notification. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the church office.*
